Nose Aesthetics

Rhinoplasty (Aesthetic Nose Surgery)
Rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure that aims to make the nose structure more harmonious and proportional to the face.
Since the nose is located in the center of the face, it significantly affects the general facial appearance and expression of the person.
For this reason, rhinoplasty is preferred by people who want to achieve a natural and balanced appearance that is compatible with facial features.
Although rhinoplasty is usually performed for aesthetic concerns, in some cases it can also be performed to eliminate health problems.
Congenital deformities in the nasal structure, deformations caused by traumas or respiratory problems are among the reasons for rhinoplasty surgery.
Who is Suitable for Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is suitable for people who are not satisfied with the appearance of their nose or who have disorders in the structure of the nose that cause health problems.
This surgery can be preferred in the following cases:
- Big or small nose
- Low or raised nose tip
- Prominent nasal arch
- Disproportionate nostrils
- Curvature of the nose
- Disproportion of the nose to the rest of the face
The most suitable candidates for rhinoplasty surgery are people in good general health, non-smokers and people with realistic expectations.
How is Nose Aesthetics Performed?
Rhinoplasty surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes an average of 2 to 3 hours.
It is performed using open or closed technique depending on the scope of the surgery and the corrections to be made in the nose.
- Open technique: A small incision is made between the nostrils and the nasal skin is lifted.
With this method, the bone and cartilage structure of the nose can be further intervened. - Closed technique: The nasal structure is accessed by making incisions through the nostrils.
It is preferred because it does not leave a visible scar on the outside, but the open technique may be more suitable for complex deformations.
During the surgery, depending on the structure of the nose and the aesthetic demands of the person, the nasal bridge can be filed, the tip of the nose can be lifted or the size of the nostrils can be reduced.
After the surgery, the nose is splinted and silicone tampons can be placed in the nose.
Recovery Process
The healing process after rhinoplasty surgery may differ from person to person, but in general, the following stages are passed through:
- During the first week, there may be swelling, bruising and mild pain in the nasal area.
These conditions decrease over time. - Sutures and splint are removed within 7 to 10 days after surgery.
- The time for full recovery and full visualization of the shape of the nose can vary from 6 months to 1 year.
